Our cup overflows...

We are feeling mighty blessed right now because we learned a week ago today that our sweet daughter and son-in-law are PREGNANT!!! Yahoo!!! We are really so thrilled because we have learned that being grandparents is just that...GRAND!!!! We know that David and Ashley will make AMAZING parents and that God has wonderful plans for them! It was a super fun weekend. Ashley had made a really cute scrapbook of "Our Valentines"! She had told me she had our Valentine card but thought she would just wait till we got there to give it to us because she was afraid it might get messed up in the mail!!! (Ashley, I taught you not to lie!!!) So, after we got there, she and David casually said, "Oh yeah, here is ya'lls Valentine". We proceeded to look at the pictures on each page and yes, they were all pictures of our Valentines...Zach, Meg, Ashley, David, Owen, Clay, Will and then a picture of a SONOGRAM!!! Yahoo! Everything looks good, she is 11 weeks along and hasn't been sick a day just tired! We are so happy and proud for the two of you and look forward to being Bud and Honey to another precious little one!

Valentine Sleepover!

Since this is one of those holidays meant for couples, we decided to let Zach and Meg have an evening alone! We sent an invitation to the boys a week ago asking if they could come to a Valentine Sleepover at Bud and Honey's house!
We invited our three grandsons for a Valentine Sleepover, a time for us to enjoy their sweetness and a time for Mom and Dad to enjoy each other...quietly!

Here is a run down of the evening!

Ate supper, which including some red heart jigglers with pink cool whip and for dessert-Red Velvet Moon Pies...big hit! Then we sent the boys on a heart hunt! Instead of Easter Eggs, we had hidden red and pink paper hearts all over the house for them to find! They loved it! We had the kitchen island set up and we dipped large marshmallows in chocolate then we had an assortment of Valentine sprinkles to top off their creations! After we finished our "baking" and of course tasting a few we moved on to the table to make cards for their mommy and daddy! It was so sweet to watch them work so hard on making their cards extra special!

Larry and I made a bean bag board with personalized bead bags for each boy. They love to throw stuff, so this was a big hit!

After baths, we finished off the evening with a little snuggle time before being tucked into bed. The boys were up fairly early this morning and ready to play with their new bean bag toss. We fixed some breakfast and finished our time playing! They were quite excited to show off their new toy and give their parents their very special cards.

It was a "sweet" time with three precious little guys! We love you Owen, Clay and Will!

I am suffering from Bloggers Blah!

It was my plan to be "better"in 2009 about blogging. But that was before I began suffering from Blogger's Blah! I have had several ask why I haven't been blogging. I don't have a good reason, things are fine! It's actually really hard for me to believe it is the 18th of January! Where has the time gone? I will get back into it, but thanks for all the concern!

My Three Little Men

There are just certain things that melt your heart and ONE of those things for me are my three little men. Owen, Clay and Will a wonderful mix of blue eyes, dimples, energy and adorable little words coming those sweet little lips! I wondered after Owen how my heart could hold more love for another, but it does and it will continue for future grands! Being a grandmother, Honey as I am called is like honey...so sweet!

Christmas with the family

This past weekend we met at David and Ashley's house for Christmas! We had a fun filled packed weekend! We started on Friday night as soon as David got home from work. Zach, Meg and the boys arrived around 4 and Ashley had the house looking adorable! It was so fun for all of us to see their house decorated for the holidays! That was the first time since they married to see all their fun decorations! They did an amazing job hosting our family Christmas. We ate our favorite family snack foods and then let the boys go on a scavenger hunt to look for their new PJ's and Christmas movie. We ate lots of great food and had so much fun visiting. After the boys went to bed the three couples played Cranium. David and Ashley beat us this year! Then it was off to bed knowing full well the little guys would be up early. Boy were they excited to get started! This year we only bought a few gifts for the little guys and then stockings as our Christmas gift to the families this year was a night at the Gaylord Texan and tickets to see ICE. So, after breakfast, we go ready and headed to Grapevine for lunch and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Christmas! I would love to go back to Grapevine again, they were decked out for the holidays! We checked into the Gaylord, let the little ones get their naps and then we enjoyed walking around the Gaylord before heading out for supper. Zach and Meg found a great little place for us to eat. We again enjoyed all the lights, music and being together. Sunday started off with a real bummer, as Ashley woke up with a stomach bug. So though she felt terrible she certainly wanted us to keep on with our plans while she rested. We enjoyed a great breakfast and then headed to the see ICE. It was amazing! The Gaylord is completely decked out for the holidays, very fun to see and we loved being with the family. We hated so bad that Ashley got what we all had the week before, so sorry Ashley!  That really isn't what we meant to give you for Christmas! It was a fun, memorable time. Thank you David and Ashley for hosting our Christmas 2008, everything was beautiful! Here are a few pictures of our time together. Merry Christmas everyone!

Chocolate Crackle Cookies...yummy!

This was one of my mom's recipes and it is a good one. David and Ashley had a dessert reception after their wedding and so we had tables of "favorite desserts" from grandparents, moms, etc. My sweet friend Karen Rich, so sweetly made dozens of these cookies to have at the reception. She did a great job on them and it was such a precious way to honor my mom, Ashley's Nanny! Thank you Karen for your gift of love!

Chocolate Crackle Cookies

1- 18 1/2 ounce Devils Food Cake Mix
2 eggs slightly beaten
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups chopped pecans
Powdered sugar
Combine cake mix with eggs, vanilla, water and shortening. Stir with spoon until well mixed. Add pecans. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in powdered sugar.
Bake on well greased cookie sheets placing balls 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake 375 for 8-10. Cookies are very soft. Cool on rack and then place in airtight container until serving.
